Wanting to overtake a tractor-trailer, a 35-year-old collided with oncoming traffic Wednesday evening. The two cars involved in the collision, two VWs, were thrown against the truck – both drivers had to be taken to hospital after emergency medical treatment.
A 35-year-old Kosovan from the Eferding district drove along Wallerner Straße towards Eferding on Wednesday evening. A 56-year-old from the Grieskirchen district was driving in the opposite lane. At the beginning of a left turn, the younger man decided to pass the tractor-trailer in front of him – and then it happened.
Two injured
According to the police, the 35-year-old collided head-on with the 56-year-old’s oncoming car. As a result of the collision, the two VWs were thrown against the left rear of the truck and then came to a complete destruction.
After initial treatment by the emergency doctor, both motorists had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
Wallerner Strasse was closed for about an hour and a half due to the accident.
