More than three years ago it made headlines and heated emotions: the young bull “Goofy” from the Zillertal was saved from slaughter by high school students from Hamburg, brought back to their home country and made into a controversial school project there.
It all started with a very moving story: when students from the Walddörfer High School saw live how a calf was born on a farm in Ginzling during their school trip to Tyrol, they were completely over it.
They fell in love with the little bull and named him “Goofy”. However, when the young people found out that bull calves go to a fattening farm after just a few weeks, they quickly took the animal to the Elbe.
