Serious accident on Thursday afternoon in the Innviertel. A young worker climbed onto the roof of an old carriage house to install a PV system. However, he broke through the shingles and fell thirty feet to the hard concrete floor. The 19-year-old was seriously injured.
After a 19-year-old and his 17-year-old colleague, both from the Grieskirchen district, completed electrical installation work for a ground-based PV system in Utzenaich on Thursday, the 19-year-old climbed an aluminum ladder onto the gable roof of a building. The coach house was built in 1901 to take measurements there.
Colleague went to get help
As he climbed over the ridge to the corresponding side of the roof, he broke through the shingles and underlying roof battens between the trusses and fell about thirty feet to the concrete floor of the shed. He remained there seriously injured. The 17-year-old, who was in the shed at the time of the accident, noticed the accident and ran out of the shed to get help.

He twisted his ankle and injured himself indefinitely. He was taken to Ried Hospital. After receiving emergency medical treatment, the 19-year-old was flown by helicopter to UKH Linz.
