The fans of “Bergdoktor” are probably in shock! In Going am Wilden Kaiser, the national youth maypole plunged into the house known as the “Gasthaus Wilder Kaiser” from the popular TV series on Tuesday afternoon. “The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. during an attempt to put up the tree,” said Mayor Alexander Hochfilzer. It is still unclear why the accident occurred.

Boy flown to the clinic in Innsbruck
A 7-year-old boy who wanted to watch the boom being placed on his scooter from a respectful distance was apparently struck by the boom and suffered significant injuries to his face and foot, but responded. He had to be flown to the clinic in Innsbruck by the Christophorus 4 emergency medical helicopter. A car was also damaged.

House still habitable
The roof of the “Bergdoktorgasthaus”, which is normally inhabited, was badly hit. “But it is still habitable,” says the village chief. The residents were on site during the incident, but fortunately were not injured. The Maypole festival planned for Tuesday evening had to be cancelled. The village square was officially closed.
