By helicopter to hospital – explosion in garage: man seriously injured

A man was seriously injured in an explosion in a garage in Markersdorf near Neulengbach (Lower Austria). He was flown by emergency medical helicopter to a hospital in Vienna.

A man was working in a garage when an explosion suddenly occurred. According to initial information, the person was able to extinguish the fire himself and leave the garage. However, the man remained seriously injured at the scene of the accident.

The emergency services provided first aid on the spot and fought for the man’s life. An emergency doctor’s helicopter took the seriously injured man to a hospital in Vienna.

The local fire department conducted a thorough follow-up inspection of the fire area to rule out further hazards. How the explosion occurred is still part of the investigation.
