The family spent the holidays together with a barbecue in the Donaustadt district of Vienna. At around 3:45 p.m., the father, an Austrian citizen, asked his son to load the folding seats into the car. But because the 18-year-old did not do this, the man tried to hit him on the head with a beer bottle.
However, the 18-year-old ran away, his father ran after him – and fell. He was injured.
Entire family threatened with death
The man is said to have previously threatened to kill the boy, his daughter and his ex-wife. The 55-year-old was temporarily arrested. He was taken to a hospital. An entry and approach ban and a temporary weapons ban were issued against the man.
During interrogation, the father seemed contrite – he talked about gaps in his memory.
