The body of a 19-year-old was discovered on Saturday in an underground car park in Regensburg (Bavaria). The police are currently assuming a violent crime. Suicide is unlikely, they say.
But nothing can yet be said about how the young woman from the Bavarian district of Cham died, says police spokesman Matthias Gröger. Research is being done in all directions. According to police, passers-by reported on Saturday morning that a car with a broken window was parked in the underground parking garage of a hardware store in Regensburg.
A police patrol then discovered the dead woman in the trunk. “It was a routine check,” said a police spokesperson. The body was found by chance.

No reports of missing persons
The car was registered to the 19-year-old’s parents. It is unclear how long the car has been in the underground parking garage. The young woman had not been reported missing.
Detectives searched the garage for clues until Saturday evening. A funeral director later collected the body. In addition, the young woman’s parents, who are receiving psychological care, and witnesses have already been questioned. More information will follow on Sunday.
