Sensational burglary on Sunday evening in Tyrol! Unknown perpetrators broke into the ARBÖ building in Telfs (Innsbruck-Land district) and stole, among other things, a safe weighing 100 kilograms. This was found unopened on Sunday afternoon in the nearby Arzbergklamm.
In addition to the safe, which weighed about 100 kilograms, the unknown suspects stole a cash register and several packs of cigarettes. “In the nearby Arzbergklamm they tried to open the safe in the stream bed, but it didn’t work,” police said.
Material damage amounts to several thousand euros
On Sunday afternoon, officers were able to secure the safe and hand it over to the owner unopened. “Despite securing the unopened safe, the injured party suffered damages amounting to several thousand euros,” said the director.
The police are looking for witnesses
The PI Telfs is now looking for witnesses who noticed the burglary at night or who saw suspicious things in the Arzbergklamm during Sunday, especially near the pedestrian bridge. “It is possible that three people were tampering with a safe or otherwise stood out,” the researchers explain.
