Serious accident in Vienna-Floridsdorf: After a car crashed into a pole on Wagramer Straße, the 72-year-old driver had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries. The cause of the accident is still unclear.
Shortly before 3 p.m., several teams from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service were warned of a serious traffic accident on Wagramer Straße in Vienna-Floridsdorf. Earlier, a car crashed into an overhead signpost – why is still unclear. The vehicle was thrown on its side, trapping the 72-year-old driver.
Woman only slightly injured
Several teams from the professional rescue service and the Vienna Fire Department freed the seriously injured man and took him to a hospital shock room. The 68-year-old passenger – the driver’s wife – escaped with minor injuries. She was even able to free herself from the car.
After providing first aid to the injured, the accident vehicle was removed from the Wagramer Straße intersection by the fire brigade.
