Ending with a crash – 19 year old alcoholic ran away from the police

Immediately after leaving the parking lot, the young Klagenfurt man accelerated hard – probably to impress his four 17-year-old passengers. A police patrol also heard the sound of spinning tires. “The officers immediately started driving with flashing lights. The 19-year-old driver noticed this, accelerated even further and fled,” the police said.

In a left turn near Völkermarkter Straße, the young man then lost control of the 3-series BMW. “The rear swerved, the car veered over the curb and slid across the traffic island,” police said. “He tore down two trees and a poster stand. The car then crashed into the underground parking garage entrance of a house.” There the car hit the center pillar and finally stopped.

Fortunately, only one person was injured
When the accident was registered, it unsurprisingly turned out that the 19-year-old from Klagenfurt had had something to drink. “The breath test showed moderate alcoholism. In addition, the 19-year-old did not have a valid driver’s license,” police said. While the car was towed away with a total loss, the 17-year-old passenger from Klagenfurt had to be taken to the Klagenfurt clinic with minor injuries – the other three passengers from the St. Veit district and the driver himself remain unharmed.

The Klagenfurt professional fire brigade was deployed with two vehicles and eight men for the safety and clean-up work. The alcohol driver is now displayed.
