An overwhelming majority of 143 states are once again calling for the full integration of Palestine into the UN

Date:

In any case, the decision falls under the responsibility of the Security Council. Israel’s Foreign Minister has described the vote as an “absurd decision”, which he viewed as “a reward for the Hamas terrorists”.

An overwhelming majority of 143 states, of the 193 members of the UN, raised questions again today in the UN general meeting to reconsider the integration of Palestine as a full state, a decision up to the Security Council.

Only nine countries voted against and 25 abstained in this resolution, which was co-sponsored by Spain, Ireland, Norway and Belgiumnext more than 70 countries.

The resolution adopted by the General Assembly also grants Palestine new powers that go beyond its current status as a ‘non-member observer state’ and define its participation in the General Assembly, but specifies that She will not have the right to vote, nor will she be able to present herself as a candidate for United Nations organizations..

The Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Israel Katzhas described the vote as an “absurd decision”, which he viewed as “a reward for the Hamas terrorists”.

“The decision to upgrade the status of Palestinians at the UN is a reward for Hamas terrorists after committing the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust and committing the most heinous sex crimes the world has ever seen.” , the minister said.

Katz believes the measure “demonstrates the structural bias of the UN” and that, under the leadership of Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, it has “become an irrelevant institution.”
