The mysterious poisoning case of a family in Obertrum in Salzburg has now finally been cleared up. A laboratory analysis has now confirmed that there was actually cannabis in the family dinner.
Now it is official: there was intoxicating THC in the food of the family from Obertrum, who ended up in the hospital with serious poisoning symptoms at the end of April! This is evident from the analysis of the pancakes that were served for dinner that evening.
Last Friday, the food inspectorate of the state of Salzburg received the results. She had taken samples on behalf of the police from the suspicious family dinner, which apparently contained cannabis. The supervisory authority then sent it to the food laboratory of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) in Vienna.
The police are still investigating
That evening, four family members suddenly complained of typical poisoning symptoms. Ambulances, emergency doctors and even a helicopter were deployed to provide medical care to people between three and 72 years old.
For a long time it was unclear what exactly had happened. Only in the days that followed did the fog lift. However, it is still unclear whether a drug experiment or a naughty prank brought the four people to the hospital. The police investigation is ongoing.
