Defeat for US President Joe Biden: In a recent poll, 46 percent of respondents said they would vote for his Republican predecessor Donald Trump. Only 41 percent spoke out in favor of the incumbent head of government.
The research was conducted as part of Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll is held monthly. Trump turned out to be the current favorite for the US presidential election. In fact, 65 percent of those polled said Biden shouldn’t even be running for election next year.
Even Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis scored better than Biden. But Trump remains the favorite among the party’s possible candidates. 48 percent supported his run in the Republican primary, with DeSantis second at 28 percent.
Biden under pressure over seized secret documents
The bad poll result for Biden followed explosive revelations: classified documents had been found in his private office, a garage and most recently at his home in Wilmington, Delaware. That had given the Republicans ammunition – although a few months earlier highly confidential documents had also been seized from Trump’s private estate Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
