A misstep killed a sailor on a cruise ship on the Danube. He fell down a flight of stairs, had to be rescued from the ship and treated by the emergency doctor.
A 61-year-old Serb was a crew member on a passenger ship on a journey across the Danube from Germany to Bratislava via Austria. Shortly after noon, after the ship was docked at the Neuhaus/Untermühl jetty (Upper Austria), he slipped while descending a staircase in the ship from the main deck to the lower deck.
Severely injured on impact
He fell down four steps and hit his back on the lower steps. The 61-year-old was so badly injured in the collision that he had to be transported by ambulance to the hospital in Rohrbach.
