The German, together with his girlfriend, a twenty-year-old Austrian, allegedly smuggled masses of drugs and firearms from Spain, Andorra, Germany and the Netherlands to the Linz region and some of them resold them in this country. has now been announced by the State Criminal Investigation Department.
Apartments for packaging medicines
The drug gang that was exposed was probably highly professionally organised. The young couple, who live in Linz, are said to have rented several apartments in Spain, where marijuana was packaged and then transported to Austria via a parcel service.
According to the National Criminal Investigation Department, the 22-year-old and his girlfriend also got behind the wheel: the two allegedly used the drug money – they had no permanent employment contract – to buy a BMW X4 for smuggling trips.
More than 100 advertisements
In total, investigators believe that the network transported almost 100 kilos of drugs (marijuana, cocaine, herion and other substances) and firearms. More than 100 people have already been surveyed and reported as consumers or other distributors.
The 22-year-old boss and his girlfriend remain silent about the allegations. The couple, who are presumed innocent, will appear in court in early June. “The penalty is a maximum of 15 years in prison,” explains prosecutor Ulrike Breiteneder.
