A stateless man and a partner (35) from Bulgaria simply sold lease limousines in the higher price range and the installments were not paid. For the mastermind, who ran his shady business from Vienna and Burgenland, his final destination was Slovakia.
The list of accusations against the busy financial juggler is long. The entrepreneur (43) and an accomplice are said to have mainly purchased cars with lease contracts in the name of their company and under false pretenses since 2022, but have remained owed the money.
Nice cars in sight
The damage quickly amounted to more than 3.2 million euros. The criminal manager always followed the same simple principle: the stateless man and his partner (35) from Bulgaria simply sold the more expensive limousines they had bought, and the installments were never paid.
Perpetrators without scruples
The main suspect pulled the strings from Vienna and Burgenland. He is also accused of opening accounts and fuel fraud. “The suspect apparently had no scruples because he led the shady case with his real name and official documents,” the leading officers said during the investigation by the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department, South Division.
Search successful
There was already a European arrest warrant for the suspect, ordered by the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office. At the end of April, the suspect was also wanted via the live program ‘Fahndung Österreich’ on ServusTV.
After the public appeal, the 43-year-old was caught. He was arrested in Bratislava during a check by the Slovak police. According to the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department, the extradition process to Austria is underway.
37 cases so far
Police have seized five blacked-out cars abroad, including in Rosenheim in Bavaria and in Moscow, Russia. According to the current balance, the perpetrator duo allegedly stole and sold 37 cars. “We assume that more crimes will occur. New victims are being added all the time,” the researchers say. The accomplice is still being sought.
