Terrible accident on Wednesday afternoon in the Innviertel. A motorcyclist fell and ended up in the opposite lane. An approaching driver was unable to avoid the collision and ran over the 84-year-old. All help came too late for the motorcyclist.
An 84-year-old German rode his motorcycle along Unterinnviertler Straße towards Ried im Innkreis on Wednesday around 12 noon. In the municipality of Taiskirchen, two vehicles stopped in front of him because of traffic because one of them intended to turn left.
The motorcyclist tried to avoid the car in front of him and hit the car, fell and came to a stop in the lane intended for oncoming traffic.
No more rescue
The oncoming 51-year-old motorist from Germany was unable to brake in time and rolled over the motorcycle handlebars. Tragically, the emergency doctor who was alerted could only determine that the 84-year-old was dead.
