A 25-year-old woman was robbed in broad daylight in Lienz in East Tyrol on Tuesday. The brave victim chased the unknown man and was eventually able to take the loot from him. The perpetrator eventually managed to escape. The police are now hoping for clues.
The place of the robbery was the Draupark in Lienz. Shortly after 10:30 a.m., the 25-year-old local woman was robbed by an unknown person near the wooden bridge next to the football cage.
Backpack and umbrella snatched
“The perpetrator violently ripped the backpack from the woman’s shoulder and the umbrella from her hand and ran with the loot along the Draupark towards the city,” the police reported.
The victim ran after the criminal. After 200 meters, the 25-year-old managed to overtake the perpetrator and take the loot from him. Ultimately, no damage was caused, but the man was able to escape.
The police are hoping for clues
The perpetrator is approximately 40 to 45 years old and approximately 1.9 meters tall. He wore a striking orange work jacket, an orange/white cap and gray or blue long trousers.
