A 41-year-old woman and her two sons (18, 19) were caught red-handed in Lower Austria after breaking into 36 basement compartments.
On Thursday evening, a resident of Wolkersdorf heard noises in the Mistelbach district. He called the police. The officers caught the trio – a 41-year-old woman and her two sons (18, 19) – in the act. They had stored stolen goods in backpacks and bags and provided, among other things, an e-bike and an e-scooter for transport.
The police temporarily arrested the three Slovaks. They have not confessed, as stated in a broadcast on Friday.
36 cellar compartments looted
On Thursday evening, the suspects allegedly broke into a total of 36 basement compartments in four residential buildings in Wolkersdorf. They were also charged with attempted burglary of an apartment that same evening. The extent of the damage was initially unknown.
