Substation damaged – drone attack: Russian oil refinery fire

Date:

According to local authorities, a fire broke out at an oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region. The reason for this was a Ukrainian drone attack, the short message service Telegram said on Friday.

The Ministry of Defense in Moscow announced that it was possible to contain the fire in the city of Tuapse. The Russian Air Force destroyed 102 Ukrainian drones during the night and the Russian Black Sea Fleet also neutralized six naval drones.

As a result of the attacks, a substation in Sevastopol, Crimea, was damaged, as Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvoschaev said on the short message service Telegram. “There will be isolated power outages.”

Schools and kindergartens closed
Given the situation, schools and kindergartens remained closed. Sevastopol is the homeport of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. Tuapse is located on the Black Sea, southeast of the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed from Ukraine.
