About 280 groups will take part in the 60th state fire brigade competition on June 7 and 8 in the Zillertal. The draw has now taken place for the Firecup, the knockout competition for the best groups of 2023 – it will be exciting. And the “Krone” is giving away tickets!
An impressive number: almost 3,000 firefighters from all nine states, as well as from South Tyrol and Bavaria, will make the trip to Zell am Ziller at the beginning of June to demonstrate their skills. “For the first time, a group from the Tyrolean police command is taking part,” announces Alexander Stock, commander of the Zell am Ziller volunteer fire brigade, which is hosting the competition.
In addition to the classic duel between the fire brigades, the Firecup will also be held on Saturday. The best 16 groups from last year’s competition will compete against each other. Without exception, these are Tyrolean fire brigades. Eight had already been placed and faced eight opponents last Thursday in the BrauKunstHaus in Zell am Ziller. The draw, featuring a top-class cast, was even livestreamed.
