Drugs, thefts, fights, material damage, excessive alcohol consumption – after the ‘quiet’ start on Friday, the emergency services had their hands full with the second evening of partying in the popular seaside resort.
“No major incidents” – that was (as reported) the conclusion of the security forces after the first “Tutto Gas” party evening on the Upper Adriatic. But on the night from Saturday to Sunday it looked completely different. Thousands of others joined the crowds of party tourists who had already arrived on Saturday morning and into Friday morning.
“Consumed a lot of alcohol”
The mood in the party epicenter of Lignano was simmering – and increasingly intense. “It was very hot and most people were partying hard on the beach all day and drinking alcohol,” Villach police officer Martin Marco told “Krone”. Who therefore only got a few hours of sleep.
“Over the course of the night, one operation followed another. We haven’t had anything like this for a long time.” According to the officer, a “not insignificant amount” of drugs was seized. “Most people just want to party”

The emergency services had hoped that the last evening of celebration would be quieter and that many tourists had already left. However, there was still a lot of activity on the beaches on Sunday. And: Contrary to usual, many guests only arrived on Sunday – to celebrate at least one evening on Pentecost Monday.
