The robbery took place on Monday evening shortly after 12.30 pm at Eduard-Wallnöfer-Platz in Innsbruck. According to the police, two initially unknown perpetrators stole the money bag from the jacket of a 19-year-old Austrian and fled with it.
The robber followed the robbers and tried to get his wallet back. But according to police, the two perpetrators attacked the 19-year-old and were able to escape with the loot.
Drugs found, no stolen property
The police started a manhunt. With the help of a sniffer dog, the suspected perpetrators were arrested less than half an hour later. They are two locals, also 19 years old. Researchers found 43 grams of cannabis herb in one of the two young men. However, the suspected stolen wallet did not appear.
