A dangerous trend put a 34-year-old Viennese in acute danger of life. He wanted to film himself in a mud puddle in Lower Austria, but then quickly threatened to sink. So he called 911 instead. A major search ensued for the man.
It is an extremely strange and dangerous preference that you want to share with as many people as possible via social media. And it was precisely this trend that almost proved fatal for a 34-year-old in Gänserndorf. The Viennese, who was wearing waders, deliberately put himself in an extremely dangerous situation in a pit full of mud on the company premises.
Found just in time
“Luckily” he wanted to film himself and share it with the world. This meant he could use his mobile phone to alert emergency services as he sank deeper into the mud and was unable to free himself. Because it was not clear exactly where the 34-year-old was located, a search was started.
Pulled out using a winch
The man, who was already buried in mud up to his chest, was found just in time. The fire brigade first secured the vehicle with planks against further sinking before it could be pulled out with a winch. The apparently unharmed man refused to go to the hospital.
