“Otherwise the woman will find out”: With these threatening words, a Romanian nurse persuaded her employer to pay her 48,000 euros. She confessed in court in Salzburg and was sentenced to prison.
The accused Romanian woman (42) worked as a 24-hour caregiver in this country in the autumn of 2023. This led to tenderness from her employer, the head of a healthcare agency. This means two erotic foot massages. What the married man didn’t know was that the woman was filming. And then brazenly exploited the situation for his own benefit, as charged. In October and November she called the man involved several times, sometimes even daily, and threatened him: “Pay or I will send the photos of the woman.”
In five attacks, up to 55,000 euros were demanded
She asked for money and he paid: once 3,000 euros, then 10,000 euros, and so on. The blackmail calls did not stop immediately: men even called posing as lawyers and demanded even more cash, up to 55,000 euros. Ultimately, the man transferred 48,000 euros.
Suspect speaks of accomplices
And now he no longer wants anything to do with the woman, he told the judge as a witness during the trial in Salzburg on Thursday. The suspect himself made a confession. However, her statements were contradictory and she also remained silent about accomplices. She only said that she had received 16,000 euros – the rest went to a certain “Adi”. And when asked why she filmed the massages, she simply replied: “It’s a fantasy of mine.”
Prosecutor Sandra Wimmer then lost her patience: “You were aware of all this and are only trying to force us to tolerate your stories about the accomplices.” She demanded a “severe” punishment. The judge agreed: “The court assumes that she received the entire 48,000 euros.”
Guilty of aggravated extortion and two years’ partial prison sentence, eight months of which are unconditional. The judgment is not final.
