The Ried Regional Court has imposed extradition custody on the two Indians arrested in Hohenzell on suspicion of murder. The detention hearing will take place in early June, according to court spokesman Stefan Kiesl: “The two suspects have not made a confession and do not want to be extradited to Great Britain.”
The two Indians are strongly suspected of brutally murdering another Indian citizen together with seven other compatriots on August 21, 2023 in the British city of Shrewsbury. Five suspects have already been arrested in Great Britain. Four perpetrators were each sentenced to 28 years in prison for murder and one perpetrator was sentenced to ten years in prison for manslaughter.
The remaining four suspects managed to escape, although one was suspected of a possible connection with Upper Austria and the British authorities therefore contacted the intended search group of the State Criminal Investigation Department of Upper Austria via Interpol Vienna. On Monday he and another suspect were arrested in the Innviertel.
