Strange accident Tuesday evening in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern: a 77-year-old lost control of her car in Vils, crashed over a steep embankment and crashed into the wall of the local cemetery. Instead of stopping, the injured man continued driving. The final stop was only after two kilometers.
The strange and sometimes very dangerous scenes took place shortly after 8:30 PM on Tuesday evening. The 77-year-old local resident drove her car from the cemetery parking lot towards the center of Vils.
I went over the side of the road
“For an unknown reason the driver then went over the right edge of the road on the uphill road. As a result, she drove over the steep embankment and down the adjacent pasture, crossed the cemetery’s gravel parking lot and ultimately crashed into the cemetery wall,” police said.
The 77-year-old then drove her car back into a meadow. There she then made a large loop and continued driving, the researchers say.
Rescued to hospital
The woman, who suffered injuries from the impact, only stopped after about 1.7 kilometers. She was taken by ambulance to the Reutte district hospital.
