Krone+ checklist – Not every first feeding is ideal for your baby

Date:

Babies need milk – according to the WHO, this should ideally come from the mother’s breast, or be mixed with powder. But the composition of the products on the market is not always ideal. Parents should therefore definitely know what to look for when purchasing.

There are several reasons why a mother may not want or cannot breastfeed her child after birth. According to the domestic survey ‘SUKIE’, only 55 percent of Austrian infants are fed exclusively from the breast after the first week of life. And if a baby does not get enough breast milk, so-called infant formula, also called pre-food, must be used.
