Dangerous (curiosity) greed: On Friday evening in Lambach, four fire brigades were active to rescue a fallen treasure hunter. The detectorist (50) fell several meters down a steep slope over a rocky edge during a search with his son.
The 50-year-old from Edt near Lambach was with his son in Lambach late Friday afternoon with a metal detector looking for “interesting” objects. When the two saw an object that piqued their interest, the father wanted to climb down a steep slope. To do this, he held on to a branch. It suddenly gave in and broke off.
Four fire brigades in action
The 50-year-old fell over a vertical rock wall several meters high and came to rest approximately in the middle of the steep slope. Four fire brigades with a total of 63 men, two paramedics, two police officers, two mountain rescuers and an emergency doctor went up the steep slope to rescue the seriously injured man. Ultimately, the 50-year-old was admitted to the Wels Clinic after the first treatment.
