A wave of aid has swept through a Mühlviertel town after a father of five died in a car accident. The ‘Krone’ family also spontaneously helps so that the wife and children – from babies to school age – can at least make their financial worries a little easier.
“The two little ones don’t understand it yet, they probably have it the easiest. Of course the others always ask about their father” – for 36-year-old Tanja W. from St. Martin im Mühlkreis the world stood still on Tuesday. “We were used to Sepp being away for a few days when he was on construction sites. But he won’t come home anymore…”
A head-on accident in the morning
Her husband and father of five children aged between seven months and 11 years died in a serious accident in Sierning. The company bus ended up on the wrong side of the road around 9:30 am and collided head-on with a silo transporter.
Worries about the future
The news shocked the entire 3,700-member community in the Mühlviertel. The family of Josef R. (60) comes from St. Martin. He has been together with his Tanja for 18 years. Construction of the house started in 2010 and they got married in 2015. Everything went according to plan, mother was at home with the children, father provided the income. That is gone now, all that remains are memories and, besides sadness, worries about the future. With five children, it is almost impossible for the woman to have a job, and there are still outstanding debts on the house.
benefit concert
That’s why people come closer together on St. Martin. A spontaneous collection was held during the children’s football training and on Sunday, June 16, a charity concert “In memory of Josef” will take place in the Granitarena Plöcking – near the family’s home. Net proceeds will go to the extended family.
Every cent counts
And the ‘Krone’ family also spontaneously helps to at least alleviate the financial worries. If you want to help the mother and her five children, donate to the special “Krone” account with the password “extended family” (see info box).
