A Ukrainian long-distance driver crashed several times in the car wash of a gas station in the Völkermarkt district on Monday evening, before the drunken man tried to escape.
The Ukrainian was drunk at the gas station in Griffen around 2 a.m. when he crashed his tractor-trailer several times backwards into a self-service car wash. According to police, the 56-year-old then tried to flee and drove away about 50 meters before parking the truck.
Driver refused breath test
“The incident was observed and reported by another truck driver. In the course of the official act, the Ukrainian refused to take the breath test,” the police said. The drunk driver’s car keys and driver’s license were temporarily confiscated.
The extent of the material damage cannot yet be estimated.
