Late on Sunday evening, a new driver’s license holder in the Tyrolean lowlands was in a particular hurry: the 17-year-old local resident drove along the Inntal highway at almost 200 km/h. The young speed demon had to hand in his driver’s license again. Without a car, he won’t need it anyway – because it’s impounded!
The 17-year-old probationary driving license holder from the Kitzbühel district was driving on the A12 Inntal highway shortly before 11 p.m. when he came into the sights of a police patrol near Wiesing.
Fast 200 km/h in the 100er zone
The young speed demon had really pressed the accelerator and was measured at 195 km/h in the local 100 zone (Immissionsschutzgesetz-Luft, IG-L; note).
Removed from traffic in the parking lot
The officers immediately gave chase and pulled the speedster out of traffic in the Münster parking lot. “The 17-year-old’s driver’s license was confiscated at the scene. The vehicle he was driving was also temporarily seized,” investigators said.
The young man must now expect a stiff punishment. Corresponding reports have been submitted to the responsible authorities.
