Approximately 7.6 million units sold in two generations speak for themselves: the VW Tiguan is Wolfsburg’s bestseller. Of course, there’s something at stake when you start the third edition. The new Tiguan should harvest the field of combustion engines while it is still being ordered. The top trim tested here called R-Line may not be that popular, as with the closely related Passat the Wolfsburg company has overdone it a bit with plastic at the front and rear, which should make the bodywork look sporty. But there are four other trim levels, all of which seem a bit more reserved and pleasant in the long run. And in principle, the Tiguan is a car that can appeal to absolutely everyone.
