Big shock in Parndorf in Burgenland: a train collided with a tractor there around lunchtime on Thursday. About 130 passengers had to be evacuated from the train. The volunteer fire brigade was present.
Fortunately, both the train driver and the tractor driver escaped unscathed and uninjured, emergency services said. Both were in severe shock. The driver of the tractor must have quickly escaped from the vehicle before the collision with the train occurred.
Bystanders were driven from the scene
“We were supported by our comrades from the FF Neudorf bei Parndorf, the Samaritan Association and the Neusiedl am See platoon of the Red Cross,” said the FF Parndorf. The emergency services also emphasized that spectators would only make the operation more difficult: “They will be driven from the site.”
