After sixteen years as mayor, Goldwörth’s local boss, Johann Müllner, abruptly resigned. The reason was a complaint from citizens. The cause of the legal dispute dates back to 2013, when a once-in-a-century flood made an entire neighborhood uninhabitable.
“I have always said: if something like this happens to me, I will stop it immediately.” By “something like that” Johann Müllner, ÖVP local leader of Goldwörth for 16 years, means a complaint against him. He found out after Pentecost and less than two weeks later he gave up his mayoral seat. “I don’t want to be sued as mayor. If that is the case, then as a normal person I would like to appear in court or simply end the proceedings,” Müllner (66) told the “Krone”.
