It is already the second knife attack this week in Vienna-Favoriten: After a 30-year-old was stabbed on Monday evening – his life is currently in danger – the next attack took place at 4.20 pm on Keplerplatz. The suspect was arrested.
The victim is said to have tried to settle a dispute between a 34-year-old Syrian and other people in the afternoon. He was slightly wounded by the Syrian with a knife. The suspect was immediately arrested by the officers who arrived on the scene.
Victim released into home care
During the arrest, it turned out that the 34-year-old had an active arrest warrant from the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office. After receiving emergency medical care, the victim was transferred to home care. The suspected perpetrator denies the crime and was taken to the correctional facility.
It was only on Monday evening that the discussion between two groups in the Arthaberpark in Favoriten escalated. A 30-year-old boy was stabbed during the incident. He is in life-threatening condition with chest, neck, leg, shoulder and abdominal injuries.
