A blessing in disguise: 1000 euros saved due to the bankruptcy of a travel agency

Date:

The bankruptcy of FTI is causing enormous turbulence in the travel industry. Those who are ready for a holiday are worried about their upcoming summer holiday, some of which have already been paid for, while others have to pay the hotel price again on the spot. In all the uncertainty, travel agencies and the Chamber of Labor are trying to help. But those who negotiate well on the spot can also be lucky, as the case of one family shows.

“It is with great regret that we have to announce today that FTI Touristik GmbH filed for bankruptcy on Monday, June 3, 2024. Trips that have not yet started will probably no longer be possible or only partially possible from Tuesday, June 4, 2024. It was a message from Europe’s third largest tour operator that also caused alarm among about 10,000 Austrians on Monday afternoon.
