A 65-year-old woman from Flachgau fell victim to a fraudster who cheated and deceived her for years. The man she contacted via the internet posed as the love of her life and persuaded her to make several transfers totaling more than 18,000 euros. The investigation is still ongoing.
The woman and the man who claimed to be her future partner had regular internet contact from 2020 to 2023. During this time he persuaded her to transfer money to him, which she eventually did. The transfers took place not only in Germany, but also in Turkey. When the woman finally realized she had been deceived, it was already too late. In total she lost more than 18,000 euros.
