Despite the support of 20 cents per liter of fuel that came into effect last April, the price of a liter of petrol is already more expensive than in the last week of March.
The average price of gasoline has chained its seventh week of increases and has since risen to a new all-time high for the first time above the level of 2 euros per literand has “eaten” the whole subsidy of 20 cents per liter which came into force last April and which have recently been extended for three months plus.
In concrete terms, the average price of a liter of petrol rose this week 2,048 eurosafter an increase of 4% from seven days ago, according to data from the European Union Oil Bulletin collected by Europa Press.
That average amount includes taxes, but does not reflect the discount in effect since April 1 of at least 20 cents per liter, as there are higher discounts depending on the oil company.
Taking into account this subsidy, the price of a liter of petrol would therefore be more expensive than in the last week of March (1,818 euros), before the discount was applied, thus reflecting the price increase recorded by this fuel since then has already absorbed all the help
In the case of diesel, after three weeks of declines, the average price per litre has risen again, rising 3.45% from seven days ago, to 1,916 euros
In this way, despite this high price level for diesel, this fuel has shown a more favorable evolution than that of petrol since the beginning of March. Applying the discount of 20 cents per liter, the amount would therefore be approximately 12 cents lower than at the end of March.
Compared to a year ago, the average price of a liter of petrol has become more expensive 51.6%while that is the case with diesel 58% more expensivehowever without taking into account the currently valid bonus.
