According to police, the 74-year-old was driving uphill on a forest road in St. Peter-Freienstein shortly before noon. A company car, driven by a 41-year-old, came towards her in a blind bend. The woman tried to get out of the way, but went too far to the right and the tractor fell over an embankment into the depths.
The Styrian woman was thrown from the driver’s cab and suffered serious injuries. The Red Cross took her to the Bruck Hospital. The 41-year-old was unharmed. The heavily damaged tractor became stuck between two trees and was rescued by the St. Peter-Freienstein and Trofaiach fire brigade.
