A violent thunderstorm erupted over Deutschfeistritz on Saturday evening, causing serious flooding and landslides. “At the request of the mayor, we activated the civil protection alarm,” the head of the state warning center, Harald Eitner, told the “Krone”. Residents are not allowed to enter the basement and must follow the instructions of the emergency services.

A mudslide also occurred near the Gleinalm tunnel, the A9 motorway had to be closed by the police and the backlog stretched over several kilometers.
