Fear for a group of young people from Mühlviertel from Zwettl an der Rodl (Upper Austria) who spent the weekend in Mallorca. They had a reason to celebrate, one of their friends turned 30.
Sudden violent shaking
On the return flight everyone celebrated their 2nd birthday together. Your AUA plane departed from Palma on Sunday around 3:30 PM. There was some turbulence during the flight. “Nothing special,” reports passenger Marcel H. With his thoughts already at home, a heavy vibration was felt about half an hour before the planned arrival in Vienna.
Flight through a storm front
“We flew through a storm front,” continued the Upper Austrian. The pilot then landed at Vienna Airport. “The landing was a little more turbulent than normal,” says the passenger. But he thought nothing of it. Then the pilot announced that the plane’s windshield was broken.
The nose of the plane was missing
A large contingent of emergency services immediately rushed to the aircraft. When the passengers got off the plane, they woke up rudely. Miraculously, no one was injured in the incident. The Mühlviertel group left Vienna Airport and soon reached Upper Austria with the ÖBB.
