At a party organized by rural youth Uderns in Tyrol’s Zillertal on Friday, apparently xenophobic slogans were chanted to the song “L’amour toujours” by Gigi D’Agostino. According to a media report, half the audience chanted “Germany for the Germans” and “Foreigners out.”
Rural Youth chairman Christoph Pirnbacher regretted the incident and said he had no control. “But what should we have done, the room was full of people,” he told “TT” and added: “That is not possible, we have to talk about it seriously from today. I’m shocked.” This is “not our idea of society and community.” The idea of stopping the song never occurred to them. “Besides, the song is not banned,” Pirnbacher said.
Party guest who complained was removed from the room
A partygoer told the newspaper that he had complained about what happened at the bar. He was then taken out of the room. Earlier, some had shouted “Nazis out.”
At the end of May, a video recorded on the German holiday island of Sylt caused a stir. Young partygoers had sung the same slogans to D’Agostino’s song as they do now in the Zillertal. Incidents had also become known from other states in Austria and Germany.
