Deployment for Tyrolean mountain rescuers in the Zillertal on Wednesday. A German student pilot (30) landed with a paraglider in a 40 meter high pine tree. The operation took about 3.5 hours in total.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. The 30-year-old took off with the paraglider from the Perler launch site on Schwendberg in the Zillertal municipality of Hippach. The destination was the landing site in Schwendau. However, the student pilot did not arrive.
Six mountain rescuers joined the pilot
For unknown reasons, he landed in a 40 meter high pine tree above the Hoabergbach gorge. Six men from the Mayrhofen mountain rescue service went to the pilot. To reach the 30-year-old, several branches had to be removed.
After two hours, the victim was finally released. It was a lucky accident and he was unhurt. The operation took a total of 3.5 hours.
