On Sunday morning, a major fire in the Bregenzerwald (Vorarlberg) caused a major operation involving more than 100 firefighters. A car parked in front of a hotel suddenly caught fire.
The spectacular fire took place in the middle of the village center of Bezau. The huge flames spread to the building. As a result, the roof structure and facade were seriously damaged. A total of eleven hotel guests and employees had to be evacuated from the hotel, the fire brigade said.
Cause of fire unclear
It is still unclear why the car started burning around 6 a.m. The fire on the facade was quickly brought under control. However, the fire brigade was still fighting embers in the roof structure for a long time.
