The fire brigade on the Neumarkt in Salzburg had to respond to a vehicle fire at night. A loud bang alerted the residents of the surrounding houses. The police are investigating.
On Thursday evening, the engine compartment of a car caught fire in the parking lot of a residential complex in Neumarkt am Wallersee. The loud bang associated with the event woke up numerous residents, who immediately discovered the burning car and alerted the fire brigade.
The Neumarkt volunteer fire brigade deployed five vehicles and a total of 29 emergency services to fight the fire. Thanks to their quick response (the fire was extinguished after 1.5 hours), the flames were prevented from spreading to adjacent buildings.
The cause of the fire is currently unclear and is the subject of a police investigation. It is not yet known how much material damage has been caused. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
