Andrea Kurz (62) has been in charge of the Medical University of Graz since February 15. It will be officially inaugurated on Friday. The “Krone” spoke with Kurz about the usefulness of the medical entrance exam, the centralization of the hospital system and the shortage of doctors.
On the windowsill there are two orchids in colorful pots. Behind it is the view of Graz: the tower of the Sacred Heart Church, the red roofs of the city center. Since February, Andrea Kurz has been managing the Med Uni Graz from her office on the eighth floor of the new, gray, modern campus. There is a bowl of water on the floor in front of her desk and her Bernese Mountain Dog “Bear” usually comes with her to the office next to it.
