In Austria, 4271 new corona infections have been registered in the past 24 hours (from 9.30 am on Friday). A week ago, there were 3,211 new cases. In the current comparison period, three other people who were infected with the virus have died.
So far there are 4,284,320 positive test results in Austria. At 9.30 am, 18,690 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection had died across Austria, and 4,224,080 had recovered. There are currently 473 patients in hospital treatment, 35 of whom are in intensive care units.
The new infections are distributed among the individual federal states as follows:
- Burgenland: 131
- Carinthia: 213
- Lower Austria: 924
- Upper Austria: 487
- Salzburg: 266
- Styria: 401
- Tyrol: 243
- Vorarlberg: 230
- Vienna: 1376
On Thursday alone, 5144 new corona infections were registered in Austria – this corresponded to a 69.5 percent increase from Thursday’s value a week ago.
