“Is she feeling better” – Now the father of the beaten girl speaks

Date:

Last weekend, a brutal attack on two girls (aged eight and ten) caused a stir in Germany: now the father of the two has spoken out. “Luckily she’s doing much better now,” he said of his eight-year-old daughter Grace.

As reported, Grace and Precious were beaten up by about eight young people on Friday evening in a settlement in Grevesmühlen (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). Before that, they were racially abused, even in the presence of the police – the family is from Ghana, according to information from “Bild” the girls were born in Germany.

When the father spoke to reporters, he still had thick bandages on his arm and hand. Even he was attacked by the youths because he wanted to help his children and talk to the attackers. He broke his finger.

Lots of drunk teenagers
Fortunately, the eight-year-old is already doing “considerably better”, according to the Ghanaian. The two girls were allegedly racially abused several times at school. In addition, violence in the city has increased enormously because many young people drink too much alcohol and subsequently lose all inhibitions, a local resident reports to ‘Bild’.

The young gang that attacked the two children is also said to have rioted drunkenly in the market square on Friday. The police are currently investigating this. According to the first studies, they do not have a migration background; many are under 18 years old.

“We’ll Stay Here”
“We have been living in Grevesmühlen since 2016, we will stay here,” the father made clear. His daughters go to the local dance school and were on their way home on Friday. You also have a brother who plays at the football club. The city’s mayor, Lars Prahler (independent), visited the family on Sunday evening. “The act clearly left its mark – physically and in the minds, especially of the children,” he said. According to a “Spiegel” report, the ten-year-old told him that racism needs to get better.

Here you can see Nancy Faeser’s message.

The mother, in turn, told the mayor that she usually picked up her daughters from dance class. But not this Friday, because she had prepared something for the city festival. “Racially abusing and brutally attacking children shows stupid hatred and incredible inhumanity. My thoughts and solidarity go out to the children and their families,” German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) wrote on Platform X on Sunday.
