On the occasion of the anniversary, director Dr. Brigitte Eggler-Bargehr looks back on the 25-year history of the Vorarlberg State Audit Office in an interview with the “Krone”. The institution has undoubtedly proven itself well.
“Kron”:Mrs Eggler-Bargehr, to what extent has the work of the Vorarlberg State Audit Office changed over the past 25 years?
Brigitte Eggler-Bargehr: Today we are a body that supports not only the state parliament, but also the municipalities in their control functions. Since 2013, the National Audit Office has been allowed to audit municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants. What is completely new is that we are allowed to check compliance with the Party Support Act. We will do this from October, when the parties’ invoices are available for the first time.
